Artist's Bio

Diane Querry has painted nature subjects since she was eight years old. Her consuming, lifelong interests have been art and science. In college she obtained undergraduate and graduate degrees in Physics. She taught college Physics and Astronomy and painted during summer and semester breaks. Later, she worked in Industry as an Engineering Supervisor, a career which allowed little time for painting. In 1993 when offered a contract with Bentley House Fine Art Publishing (to print and market her work) Diane left the engineering job to paint full-time.
Diane studied art at the Kansas City Art Institute and has worked with master artists in wildlife art and painting workshops. She has participated in numerous shows, won competitions, and received many honors in the field of art.
She paints all types of wildlife and nature scenes, but she particularly loves big cats. She observes animals in the wild, at zoos, at nature reserves and other venues, makes field sketches, photos, and quick paintings on location, which she later uses as reference for her detailed, realistic animal/nature paintings.
She is tirelessly enthusiastic about the animals and nature scenes she paints and hopes her paintings will inspire others to value and preserve our natural world.
She has recently completed construction of an 1800 sq ft studio, an integral, dedicated art space in her new home, located in the small farming community of Hume, Missouri, where the fields are lush and the skies are endless!
